For this purpose, in terms of nutritional composition, rainbow trouts obtained from the A station had the highest protein and fat ratio. The lowest protein ratio was determined in the D station, and the lowest oil ratio was determined in the C station. Although the fatty acid contents of the feeds used by the enterprises were different between them, they were almost close to each other. Meristic, stearic, palmitic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic, arachidonic, EPA and DHA were determined to be dominant in the fillet fatty acid compositions of the cultured rainbow trouts at all the stations. Although the n-3/n-6 ratio, IA, FLQ and h/H indexes in fish muscles were at desired nutritional quality values, the IT index was at undesirable nutritional quality values. It was determined that the mineral substance amounts of the feeds obtained from different stations were Ca>P>K>Na>Fe>Mg>Zn>Mn>Se. The mineral substance amounts of rainbow trout obtained from different stations were determined as K>P>Mg>Na>Ca>Zn>Zn>Fe>Se. The amount of mineral substances in the fish samples taken from all the stations was determined to be quite high. As a result, it was determined that the trout obtained from all stations had suitable nutritional criteria. All fish can be considered good sources of nutrients, fatty acids and minerals.Öğe Development of Mussel ( M. galloprovincialis L., 1819) Seed on Different Combined Collectors Used on Raft System, in Sinop, Black Sea.(Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2009) Karayücel, Sedat; Çelik, Meryem Yeşim; Karayücel, İsmihan; Erik, GökhanRaft system was practiced for mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) culture in Sinop Region, Black sea. Four different types of collectors (A type collector was in 14 mm diameter nylon rope which is suspended from the raft in known mussel settlemen time. B type collector was in 14 mm diameter nylon rope which is suspended one montly early from the known mussel settlemen time. C type collector was in 22 mm diameter and made from old ship rope. D type collector was in 19 mm diameter and made from old anchovy net) was conducted to investigate, effect of collector type on settlement. The results showed that collector types had a significant effect spat settlement. Both shape and surface structure of the collector was found significant (p<0,05). The filementous and thready surfaces of C and D type collectors were prefered by spats for initial settlement. D type collector had a highest density with 6.37±0,60 ind cm¯². At the end of 8 months experimental period, the number of spats on A, B, C and D type collectors were founs as 1218±7.90, 1.344±6,80, 3480±5,10 and 3800±5,40 ind cm¯ , respectively.Öğe Effect of temperature on some reproductive parameters of gravid females and growth of newly hatched fry in guppy, Poecilia reticulata (Peters, 1860)(Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2008) Karayücel, İsmihan; Ak, Orhan; Karayücel, SedatIn this study, the effect of temperature on growht and some reproductive parameters of guppy Poecilia reticulata were investigated. And 19, 21, 22.5, 26, 32 and 35°C water temperature treatments were used on newly hatched fry and gravid females for 11 days after parturitions and several days starting from the 16th day after first parturition until second parturition, respectively. Survival rates of heat treated fry were lower in the high temperature groups of 29°C and over than the low temperature groups of 22.5°C and lover. Same trend was observed for gravid female which all died in the temperature groups of 29°C and over. Guppy fry grown better at temperature between 22.5-26°C and the gravid female guppy produced high number of fry at temperature between 21-26°C may support the hypothesis that an ontogenetic reduction in temperature optima with increasing size for growth and the optimumu temperature for growth broadness as body increases. However, size and sex dependent optimum temperature range for optimum growth and reproduction of guppy could be in question.Öğe Effects of dietary supplementation of different rates of spirulina (Spirulina platensis) growth and feed conversion in guppy (Poecilia reticulata Peters, 1860)(Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2010) Dernekbaşı, Seval Yaman; Ünal, Hatice; Karayücel, İsmihan; Aral, OrhanIn this study, effect of dietary supplementation of different rates (10% Group B, 20% Group C, 30% Group D, 40% Group E) of spirulina (Spirulina platensis) on growth and feed conversion in guppy (Poecilia reticulata) was compared with a commercial stamp food (Group A). Fish fed 40% spirulina performed better than those fed lower levels. At the end of the experiment, there were no significant differences between the all groups in terms of average final weights (p>0.05). No significant differences were observed in specific growth rate, feed conversion rate and weight gain. However, there were significant differences in terms of feed conversion rate between groups (p<0.05) and it was the highest in Group E (1.090±0.044) and the lowest in Group A (2.312±0.071). Therefore, the best growth rate (1.933±0.009) and live weight gain (0.085±0.006 ) were recorded in Group E. As a result of the study, 40% spirulina supplementation in the diet for guppy has a positive effect on growth and feed conversion rates.Öğe Effects of Different Levels of 17 - Methyltestosterone on Growth and Survival of Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare Liechtenstein, 1923) Fry(Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2006) Karayücel, İsmihan; Ak, Orhan; Karayücel, SedatAngelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) fry were immersed in water containing 17- Methyltestosterone (MT) at the doses of 10, 25, 50, 125, 250 µg L 1 water for 30 days. The effects of MT on growth and survival were investigated at an interval of 10 days. Survival of all MT treated groups was significantly lower than control at 20 and 30 th day of the experiment period (p<0.001). At the end of the experimental period, the mean length of fry which immersed in MT of 250 µg L 1water were significantly higher than the control (p<0.05). However, enhanced growth rate observed in the present study did not compensate the high mortality in practical usage. Anabolic effects of sex steroid on survival and growth of different fish species were also discussed.Öğe Evaluation of extruded chickpea, common bean and red lentil meals as protein source in diets for juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)(Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2009) Tırıl, Serap Ustaoğlu; Karayücel, İsmihan; Alagil, Fikret; Dernekbaşı, Seval Yaman; Yağcı, Feraye BerkayAn experiment was conducted to evaluate, the use of extruded chickpea, common bean and red lentil meals as dietary protein source for juvenile rainbow trout. Three experimental diets were formulated based on a reference diet, which composed of 70% reference diet and 30% test ingredient. The diets were given as triplicate groups of juvenile rainbow trout (initial weight of 50 g) to apparent satiation twice daily. There were no significant differences among the groups fed chickpea, common bean and reference diet, for weight gain, specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio, but there were significant differences among these groups and red lentil group in these respects. There were no significant differences in digestibility of protein between the fish fed chickpea and reference diets and chickpea and common bean diets, but the red lentil diet gave lower protein digestibility. Apparent protein digestibility coefficients of the ingredients were determined high for extruded chickpea (80.65%), mid-range for extruded common bean (72.91%) and low for extruded red lentil meals (50.07%). The results indicated that extruded chickpea and common bean meals have higher potential than red lentil meal for use as dietary protein source in diets for juvenile rainbow trout.Öğe Evaluation of sesame (Sesamum indicum) seed meal as a replacer for soybean meal in the diets of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792)(Ege Üniversitesi, 2017) Dernekbasi, Seval; Karayücel, İsmihan; Akyüz, Ayse ParlakA 60-day feedingtrial was conducted to asses the potential nutritive value of sesame seed mealas a dietary replacement for soybean meal in the diets of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792). Alldiets were prepared to be isonitrogenous (49% protein), isolipidic (19% lipid)and isoenergetic (22 kJ g-1). Four different diets containing 0% (C), 10%(10SSM), 15% (15SSM) and 20% (20SSM) sesame seed meal were formulated forrainbow trout with a mean weight of 81.02±0.02 g and fish were hand fed feedtwice a day to apparent satiety under a natural light regime. At the end ofstudy, significant differences were found in final body weight, weight gain andspecific growth rate (SGR, %) between control group (C) and the experimentalgroups (p<0.05). While there were no significant differences between theexperimental groups in terms of feed conversion ratio (FCR) and proteinefficiency rate (PER) (p>0.05), Apparent Net Protein Retention (ANPR)differed significant between C and 10SSM and 15SSM and 20SSM groups(p<0.05). The moisture, protein, lipid and ash contents in the bodycomposition of the fish increased in all experimental groups. The moisture, lipidand ash content were not significantly differed among the groups (p>0.05)but protein contents of fish in 15SSM and 20SSM groups was significantly higherthan fish in control and 10SSM groups (p<0.05). There were also nodifferences in the digestibility of crude protein among groups (p>0.05).Comparable performance in growth, nutrient utilization and crude proteindeposition of rainbow trout fed by diet containing 15% sesame seed meal showedthat these meals could be used as this rate.Öğe Gökkuşağı alabalığı (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792) yeminde soya küspesi yerine susam (Sesamum indicum) tohumu küspesinin değerlendirilmesi(2017) Dernekbaşı, Seva; Karayücel, İsmihan; Akyüz, Ayşe Parlak60 günlük besleme denemesi, gökkuşağı alabalığı (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792) diyetlerinde soya küspesi yerine susam tohumu küspesinin potansiyel besleme değerini değerlendirmek için yapılmıştır. Tüm diyetler izonitrojenik (%49 protein), isolipidik (% 19 yağ) ve isoenerjik (22 kJ g-1) olarak hazırlanmıştır. %0 (C), %10 (10SSM), %15 (15SSM) ve %20 (20SSM) susam tohumu küspesi ihtiva eden dört farklı diyet ortalama ağırlığı 81.02 ± 0.02 g olan gökkuşağı alabalıkları için formüle edilmiştir ve balıklar doğal ışık rejimi altında görülebilir tokluğa ulaşıncaya kadar günde iki kez elle beslenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda, kontrol (C) ve diyet grupları arasında final vücut ağırlığı, ağırlık kazancı ve spesifik büyüme oranında (SGR,%) önemli farklılıklar bulunmuştur (p0.05), Görünen Net Protein Tutumu (ANPR) bakımından C-10SSM ve 15SSM-20SSM grupları arasındaki farklılıkların önemli olduğu belirlenmiştir (p 0.05), fakat 15SSM ve 20SSM diyetleriyle beslenen balıkların protein içerikleri C ve 10SSM diyetleriyle beslenen balıklardan daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu gruplar arasındaki farklılıklar önemli bulunmuştur (p0.05). %15 susam tohumu küspesi içeren diyetle beslenen gökkuşağı alabalıklarının büyüme, besin kullanımı ve ham protein birikimindeki performans karşılaştırıldığında, susam tohumu küspesinin bu oranda kullanılabileceğini göstermiştir.Öğe Growth and mortality of mussels (M. edulis L.) reared in lantern nets in loch Kishorn, Scotland(Turkish Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 1999) Karayücel, Sedat; Karayücel, İsmihanOne-year old rope grown mussels ( Mytilus edulis L.) were held in experimental lantern nets at 2 m and 6 m depths in Loch Kishorn on the west coast of Scotland. Growth, mortality and shell morphology were monitored from May 1993 to August 1994. Water temperature, salinity, transparency and food availability were also determined. These showed a clear seasonal cycle , in consequence, growth of mussels was relatively rapid from May to November and very slow during the rest of the year. Depth had a insignificant effect on shell length and tissue growth (P>0.05) due to similar environmental factors. Shell length growth and tissue growth exhibited different seasonal patterns and mussels reached marketable size of 50 mm over 2 years old. Shell morphology was similar at both depths (P>0.05) while shell weight was significantly higher at 2 m than 6 m (P<0.05). The natural cumulative mortality rate was found to be 13.6 % at 2 m and 16.7 % at 6 over the 15 months experimental period (P>0.05). Most of the mortalities were occurred just after stocking and attributed to stress due to handling of mussels.Öğe Growth and Production of Raft Cultivated Mediterranean Mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, 1819) in Sinop, Black Sea(Turkish Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, 2010) Karayücel, Sedat; Çelik, Meryem Yeşim; Karayücel, İsmihan; Erik, GökhanMussel culture was practiced in the raft system in Sinop area, Black Sea, from May 2005 to May 2006. One-year old rope grown mussel with a mean length of 40.28±0.51 mm and a mean live weight of 6.06±0.20 g were stocked in nylon socks, and suspended from the raft system. Effects of environmental factors including temperature, salinity, chlorophyll a, seston, particulate inorganic matter and particulate organic matter on some growth parameters were monitored during the experimental period. At the end of the experimental period, the mean mussel shell length was 58.86±2.81 mm, while mean live weigth was 18.53±2.25 g. The growth rate was low during the winter and resumed in March. The monthly distribution of meat yield changed between 16.23 and 23.93% with a mean of 20.55±0.78%. The minimum and maximum meat yield were in April and July, respectively. There was a positive correlation between meat yield and particulate organic matter (P<0.05). The highest value of Specific Growth Rate (SGR) was in the first four months when the mussels were smaller size and food availability was higher. The final production was 7.97±0.18 kg per meter of rope. Insanca is; insan onuruna yakisir çalisma kosullarinda, is sagligi ve güvenligine uygun, sosyal güvenlik imkanlari ile sendika araciligiyla temsil edilebilme olanaklarina sahip, zorla çalistirma ve çocuk isçiliginin olmadigi, yaptigi is karsiliginda hak ettigi ücreti alabilen, kisaca çalismaya iliskin temel hak ve ilkelerin hükümet, isçi ve isverenden olusan üç tarafli uzlasma içinde gerçeklestirilmesi olarak ifade edilmektedir. Ayni zamanda insanca isin dört temel unsurundan birisi istihdam yaratma oldugu bildirilmistir. Gelismis toplumlarda su ürünleri tüketicileri artan bilinçle, tabaklarindaki baliklarin yalnizca çevresel sürdürülebilirligi degil, insanca is uygulamalari ile tutarli bir sekilde üretilerek sofralarina gelmesini talep etmektedir.Balikçilik ve su ürünleri yetistiriciligi; tekne yapimi, liman, barinak ve rihtimlarda yer alan onarim ve bakim atölyelerinde destek hizmetlerinin saglanmasi gibi hasat öncesi faaliyetlerde içermektedir. Bu faaliyetler, hasat sonrasi kadar çok isi kapsamamakla beraber, halen önemli bir isgücü olusturmaktadir. Sektörde önümüzdeki yillar için avcilik, isleme ve degerlendirme alanlarinda istihdam bakimindan belirsizlik gösterirken, su ürünleri yetistiriciliginde yeni potansiyel alanlarin üretime sunulmasi ve mevcut üretim alanlarinin kapasite yükseltmeleriyle istihdam artisinin olacagi düsünülmektedir.Öğe Karyological Observation of Red Mullet (Mullus barbatus Linnaeus, 1758)(Turkish Journal of Biology, 2006) Saygun, Serkan; Karayücel, İsmihan; Bircan, RecepThe number and structure of red mullet chromosomes ( Mullus barbatus Linnaeus, 1758) were investigated and the species karyotype was analyzed. Specimens were obtained by trawl from the coast of Zonguldak, Turkey. A colchicine solution, 0.1 mg/g of body weight, was intramuscularly injected dorsally, and intraperitoneally injected ventrally. Slides were prepared from gill and fin epithelial tissues. Diğer taraftan, bütün dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemiz sularında da insan kaynaklı nedenlerle (doğal üreme ve yaşama alanlarının tahribi, kirlilik, aşırı avcılık) nesilleri tükenme tehlikesinde olan mersin balıklarının Türkiye sularındaki genel durumuna değinilmekte ve havyarı ve eti ile hem biyolojik çeşitlilik hem de ekonomik açıdan çok değerli bu balıkların korunması ve nesillerinin devamına katkı sağlanması için alınabilecek önlemler irdelenmektedir. Ayrıca ülkemizde mersin balıklarının yetiştiricilik potansiyeli ve yetiştiriciliğin nasıl ve ne şartlarda yapılabileceği konusunda bilgiler verilmektedir.Öğe Occupational Health and Safety of Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector in Turkey Under the Concept of "Decent Work"(Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi, 2021) Baki, Birol; Karayücel, İsmihan; Yavuzcan, Alpaslan; Yücel, SennanPromoting decent work in fisheries and aquaculture is an important strategy that provides more effective fisheries management and responsible aquaculture while at the same time improves livelihoods and food security. An important component of human welfare is the treatment of workers in industry. Those working in the fisheries sector do not have equal rights and are not paid equally as those in similar sectors and the formation of employment in this way cause to be a determining factor in public perception of fisheries and aquaculture sector. In the development of fisheries and aquaculture, occupational health and safety of employees should be a priority, such as the decent work right, as well as sustainable fishing resources and increased production. In this context, occupational health and safety of fisheries and aquaculture sector in Turkey under the concept of "decent work" was evaluated in the light of the available data. A total of 2541 occupational accidents and 21 deaths occurred in the last 18 years in fisheries and aquaculture activities in our country. 55.4% of the occupational accidents in the aquaculture sector in recent years is in the marine fish aquaculture, while 34.8% are in the marine fisheries, and these rates are relatively low in the freshwater fisheries (4.2%) and the freshwater fish aquaculture (5.6%). A significant relationship was determined between the increase in marine fish aquaculture production based on years and the increase in occupational accidents. It is thought that occupational health and safety trainings for employees will contribute to the reduction of occupational accidents, which have increased significantly in recent years.Öğe Optimisation of UV treatment duration to induce haploid androgenesis in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.)(Turkish Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 2003) Karayücel, Sedat; Karayücel, İsmihanThe optimum UV duration times of eggs were examined in order to develop a simple and safe method for inducing androgenetic development in the Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus . The yield of androgenetic haploid O. niloticus to the pigmentation stage was 18.53 ± 5.3% (relative to controls) with an optimal UV irradiation dose of 540 Jm -2 (at 150 ?Wcm -2 ) for 6 min. Most embryos developing after fertilisation with normal spermatozoa showed abnormal morphology and a haploid number of chromosomes (n = 22). The success of oocyte denucleation was also assessed by using the recessive “blond” skin pigmentation character.Öğe Sinop Bölgesinde Akdeniz Midyesinin (Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, 1819) Kondisyon Faktörü ve Biyokimyasal Kompozisyonu Üzerine Çevresel Faktörlerin Etkisi(Turkish Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 2003) Karayücel, Sedat; Kaya, Yalçın; Karayücel, İsmihanAraştırma süresince biyokimyasal kompozisyon, kondisyon faktörleri, su sıcaklığı, tuzluluk, askıdaki madde, klorofil-a ölçümleri bir yıl süre için yapılmıştır. Hacimsel olarak yafl et üzerinden hesaplanan kondisyon faktörü % 23,96-47,43 arasında değişmiş ve ortalama % 29,71 ± 1,99 bulunmufltur. Kuru et üzerinden tart›mla hesaplanan kuru kondisyon faktörü ise % 3,94-8,17 arasında ve ortalama % 5,07 ± 0,31 olarak bulunmuştur. Ortalama nem oranı % 82,99 ± 0.43, kül % 6,7 ± 0,22, yağ % 8,75 ± 0,58, protein % 60,21 ± 1,47 ve karbonhidrat % 24,23 ± 1,72 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre her iki kondisyon faktörünün maksimum olduğu ay Mart olarak tespit edilmiştir. Kondisyon faktörünün maksimum ve nemin minimum olduğu Mart ayında yağ oranı maksimum olarak tespit edilmiş ve proteinin maksimuma ulaştığı fiubat ayında karbonhidrat minimum olarak ölçülmüştür. Çevresel faktörler, kondisyon faktörü ve biyokimyasal kompozisyona ait parametrelerin etkileflimi tartışılmıştır. Midyelerin kondisyon faktörleri başlıca yem miktarından etkilenirken midyenin biyokimyasal kompozisyonu ile çevresel faktörler arasında net bir ilişki bulunmamıştır.Öğe The trace elements in the raft cultivated mussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, 1819) from Sinop Peninsula, in the Southern Black Sea(Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, 2008) Culha, Saniye Türk; Çelik, Meryem Yeşim; Culha, Mehmet; Karayücel, İsmihan; Gündoğdu, AyşeThe concentration of cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) in the raft cultivated Mediterranean mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis from the Sinop Peninsula, in the Black Sea were investigated seasonally. The mean concentrations of Cd, Cu and Zn in the soft tissues were 2.53±0.19, 6.98±0.31 and 228.00±16.75 µg g 1 dry weights (dw), respectively. There were no significant differences between the metal concentrations among the seasons (p>0.05). Cd and Zn levels were higher than legislative limits, while Cu level was below. The Cd and Zn concentrations in cultivated area were danger to human health or human consumption.Öğe Yüksek sıcaklıkla oksidatif strese maruz bırakılan Gökkuşağı Alabalığında (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792), Karayemiş yaprağı (Laurocerasus officinalis Roem.) ekstraktının büyüme, yaşama oranı ve bazı antioksidan enzimler üzerine etkisi(2018) Akyüz, Ayşe Parlak; Dernekbaşi, Seval; Karayücel, İsmihanBu çalışmada, yüksek sıcaklıkla oksidatif strese maruz bırakılan gökkuşağı alabalığında (Oncorhynchus mykiss), karayemiş yaprağı (Laurocerasus officinalis) ekstraktının büyüme parametreleri, yaşama oranı ve bazı antioksidan enzimler [süperoksit dismutaz (SOD), katalaz (CAT) ve glutatyon peroksidaz (GPx)] üzerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, biri ön deneme olmak üzere iki çalışma yürütülmüştür. Ön denemede yeme çeşitli konsantrasyonlarda (1, 5, 10 ve 15 g ekstrakt/kg) katılan karayemiş yaprağı ekstraktının büyüme, yaşama oranı, kanda ve solungaçta antioksidan enzimler üzerine etkileri incelenerek, uygun karayemiş yaprağı ekstraktı konsantrasyonu 15 g/kg yem olarak belirlenmiştir. Diğer denemede ise 15, 19 ve 21oC olmak üzere 3 sıcaklık uygulaması ile oksidatif stres oluşturulan jüvenil gökkuşağı alabalığında 15 g/kg konsantrasyonunda yeme ilave edilen karayemiş yaprağı ekstraktının büyüme, yaşama oranı, yem tüketimi, biyokimyasal kompozisyon ve karaciğerde antioksidan enzimler üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Kullanılan karayemiş ekstraktının büyümeyi 15 oC’de gerilettiği, 21 oC’de ise olumlu yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca 19 ve 21C’de karayemiş ilaveli yemle beslenen gruplarda, yaşama oranının kontrol gruplarına göre önemli oranda arttığı belirlenmiştir (p0.05). Enzim analizleri bakımından her iki çalışmadaki gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak önemli bir fark bulunmamıştır (p0.05). Çalışmanın sonunda elde edilen sonuçlar göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, karayemişin stres altında yaşama oranını arttırdığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak ekonomik ve kolay bulunan bir bitki olan karayemişin, su ürünleri yetiştiriciliğinde yaz aylarındaki sıcaklık artışı süresince yeme ilave edilerek yaşanan kayıpları engelleyen yeni bir antioksidan madde olma potansiyeline sahip olduğu söylenebilir.
