dc.description.abstractThe seasonal variation of the composition and concentration of epilitic diatom flora was investigated at five chosen sampling stations in the Melendiz stream. In addition, temperature and pH were measured and the variation of total organism numbers was investigated in relation to speed of stream flow The total organism numbers was high in May due to the speed of stream, while decrease speed of stream caused to increase in total organism number as do in June. In this study, Cocconeis placentula var. euglypta, Navicula cryptocephala, Navicula tripunctata, Cymbella ventricosa, Nitzschia amphibia and Nitzschia palea were dominant species in the flora of the stream Melendiz.
