Asymmetric impulse-response functions show that the directions of asymmetric causality are negative.Öğe Assessing the food safety knowledge of fast-food restaurant staff in Ankara/Turkey: some strategies from managerial approach(Inderscience Enterprises Ltd, 2018) Kaptangil, Kerem; Daskin, MustafaThe purpose of this study is to examine the food safety knowledge of foodservice staff in fast-food restaurants in a Turkish context. Bu bağlamda, dijital vatandaşlık davranışı ve siber zorbalık arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunurken, aleksitimi değişkeninin de bu ilişkide negatif yönde, zayıf ancak anlamlı bir düzenleyici etkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Öğe Integrating Social Media-Driven Service Innovation and Sustainable Leadership: Advancing Sustainable Practices in Tourism and Hospitality(Mdpi, 2025) Zada, Muhammad; Bayram, Gul Erkol; Contreras-Barraza, Nicolas; Kaptangil, Kerem; Aylan, SerkanThis study examines the impact of the digital era, particularly the increasing prevalence of social media, on sustainable tourism and hospitality development, and examines how the tourism and hospitality industry leverages social media to foster sustainability within the sector. The study presented herein also examined festival experiences based on the experience economy model. Design/methodology/approach - A face-to-face survey was performed at the rock music festival Kuzey Fest in Sinop/Turkey, where 336 questionnaires were completed. The statistical analyses conducted to establish the relationship between experiences, perceived value and satisfaction comprised explanatory factor analyses and multiple regression analysis. Findings - This study showed that the experience economy in the context of music festivals consists of four experience dimensions. According to the findings, the participants had predominantly entertainment and aesthetics experiences through passive participation. The study concluded that there were partial and full mediating roles of perceived festival value in the relationship between some experience dimensions and satisfaction; however, it was also found that escape experiences did not significantly affect satisfaction. Finally, the aesthetics, education, entertainment and festival value variables were important pioneer variables for satisfaction. Practical implications - This study provides industry practitioners with meaningful insight on how to build rich festival experiences and satisfaction. Originality/value - Perceived value is a critical factor for developing satisfaction and gaining a competitive edge. While much is known about the effect of festival experiences on satisfaction, there is little research examining festival value within the framework of experiences and satisfaction. This research also provides valuable insights for applying the experience economy within the context of events management.Öğe ROLE OVERLOAD IN HOTELS AND ITS EFFECT ON ERROR STRAIN AND CONSTRUCTIVE DEVIANT BEHAVIOURS: MODERATING ROLE OF ETHICAL CLIMATE(2024) Kaptangil, KeremThis study was conducted to measure how the mediating effect of ethical climate affects this relationship while examining the relationship between role overload, constructive deviant behavior and error strain. While excessive role overload was accepted as the independent variable, constructive deviant behavior and error strain were accepted as dependent variables, and ethical climate was accepted as the mediating variable. Revealing these relations is important for the determination of the tendency of constructive deviant behavior of hotel employees working under excessive role overload and the degree of their error strain and for the managerial tactics to be followed in such cases. The universe of the study consists of 5-star hotels located in Bodrum, Turkey. 154 questionnaires were collected from the selected hotel managers and regression and correlation analyzes were applied to the questionnaire results. The moderation analysis was performed using the Process Macro statistical tool created by Hayes (2013), with Model 1 being used for the interaction effect measurement. According to the results of the study, there is a partial relationship between role overload and constructive deviant behavior, and a weak relationship with error strain, and ethical climate also exerts a significant positive mediation effect on this relationship.Öğe The Determinants of Constructive Deviant Behaviour of Frontline Tourism Employees: An Exploration with Perceived Supervisory Support and Intrinsic Motivation(Cinturs-Research Centre Tourism Sustainability & Well-Being, 2022) Tekmen, Esra Erenler; Kaptangil, KeremThis study examined whether the employees' internal motivation mediated the relationship between perceived supervisory support and constructive deviance. The study employed simple random sampling, one of the probability sampling methods, and data were collected by survey method. 170 questionnaires were distributed, and the number of valid questionnaires was 154. The analysis of surveys revealed that intrinsic motivation plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between perceived supervisory support and constructive deviance and has a positive significant effect on innovative constructive deviant behaviors. In addition, it was found that positive relationship between supervisory support and challenging constructive deviant behaviours and negative relationship between supervisory support and innovative constructive deviant behaviours. No relationship has been found between supervisory support and interpersonal constructive deviant behaviour. In this context, it should be taken into account that employees should feel the support of managers in order to be more flexible and willing to deal with various situations.
