A Verse Commentary on Qasida al-Lamiyya of Muayyad al-Jandi by Abd al-Majid Sivasi
    (Istanbul Univ, 2025) Akdag, Ahmet
Muayyad Jandi was a student of Sadr al-Din al-Qunawi, one of the representatives of Sufi thought in Anatolia. Jandi's Qasida al-Lamiyya, considered one of the important texts of Islamic literature, consists of 171 verses and deals with the themes of religion, morality, and Sufism. The first commentary on this qasida was written by Jandi himself. Jandi commented on his qasida in Persian so that his colleagues in Persia could benefit from it. The only Turkish commentary identified so far is by `Abd al-Majid Sivasi, known by the pen name & Scedil;eyhi. Abd al-Majid Sivasi's commentary is in verse form and is found within the manuscript collection Garrett 418Y, numbered 78b-106b, at Princeton University Library. Sivasi's commentary, written in the mef & amacr;ilun fe'il & amacr;tun mef & amacr;'ilun fe'ilun meter, consists of 781 verses. Of these, 772 are translations and commentaries of Jandi's 171-verse qasida. Nine are translations and commentaries of the Arabic verse added to the end of Jandi's qasida by Sivasi. `Abd al-Majid Sivasi's Sharh Qasida al-Lamiyya, completed on May 9, 1636, is a mystical commentary adhering closely to the content of the source text. This work contains advice for Sufi travelers on the path of spiritual journey (sayr u sul & umacr;k). There has not been any research conducted on this work to date. This study first provides brief information about Muayyad Jandi, the author of the qasida and `Abd al-Majid Sivasi, the commentator of the qasida. Then, the copy of the manuscript was introduced and the work evaluated in terms of aruz prosody. Finally, it is focused on the commentary method of the work and its content.

A WORK ATTRIBUTED TO ABDULLAH BOSNEVI: RUSTEM PASHA-ZADE HUSEYIN'S COMMENTARY ON QASIDA AL-MUNFARIJA
    (Burhan Caglar, 2025) Akdag, Ahmet
Rustem Pasha-zade Huseyin was a scholar and poet who lived from the second half of the 16th century to the first quarter of the 17th century. Having received a good education, he served in various madrasas of his time and gained renown both for his commentaries and poetry. One of his most significant works is a commentary on Ibnu'n-Nahvi's famous Qasicla aLMunfarija. Numerous manuscript copies of this commentary exist in manuscript libraries, and it has been published as a master's thesis. One of these manuscripts housed in the Suleymaniye Library (Ayasofya 2077/6) contains Qasicla al-Munfarija bound together with works by Abdullah Bosnevi. Hence, in the secondary literature the commentary on Qasicla al-Munfarija has been mistakenly attributed to Abdullah Bosnevi. This paper seeks to correct this misattribution

Belâgat Kitaplarinda Cinâs-i Nâkis Çesitlerinin Isimlendirilmesi Konusundaki Tutarsizliklar
(Divan Edebiyati Vakfi, 2023) Akdag, Ahmet
Ancak cinâs-i nâkisin söz konusu çesitlerinin isimlendirilmesi hususunda belâgatle ilgili eserlerde bazi tutarsizliklar bulunmaktadir. Çalismamizda cinâs-i nâkisin çesitleri konusunda belâgatle ilgili eserlerde yer alan bu tutarsizliklar ele alinmistir. Söz konusu tutarsizliklar, Sekkâkî’nin Miftâhu’l-Ulûm adli eserinden baslanarak günümüze kadar yazilan belâgate dair tercüme, serh ve telif türündeki eserlerin incelenmesiyle tespit edilmistir. Bu baglamda çalismamiz, giris ve konuyla ilgili tutarsizliklar üzerinde durulan üç ana basliktan meydana gelmektedir. Giris kisminda cinâs-i nâkis sanatinin tarifi yapilarak belâgatle ilgili eserlerde bu sanatla ilgili tutarsizliklarin meydana gelis sekilleri hakkinda bilgi verilmistir. Birinci baslikta cinâs-i nâkis çesitlerinin herhangi bir edebî terimle isimlendirilmedigi veya kismen isimlendirildigi eserler; ikinci baslikta cinâs-i nâkis ve çesitlerinin diger cinâs çesitleriyle karistirildigi eserler; üçüncü baslikta ise cinâs-i nâkis çesitlerinin birbirinden farkli terimlerle adlandirildigi eserler üzerinde durulmustur.
