Özet
Sosyal Bilgiler dersinin önem arz eden temel amaçlarından birisi öğrencilerin sosyalleşmesine ve var olduğu topluma uyum sağlamalarına yardımcı olarak sorumluluklarını bilen etkin vatandaşlar yetiştirmektir. Öğrencilerin yakın çevresi ile iyi ilişkiler kurması, toplumsal kuralları benimsemesi, yer yer sorumluluk alabilmesi toplumsal becerilerin gelişmesi çerçevesinde önemlidir. Bu toplumsal becerilerin öğrencilere kazandırılmasına Sosyal Bilgiler dersi aracılık etmektedir ve ilgili derste kazandırılması hedeflenen sosyal katılım becerisi işe koşulmaktadır. Sosyal katılım becerisi öğrencilerin sosyal sorunları fark etmesini ve bu sorunlara çözüm üretmesini, problemler karşısında kendisini topluma karşı sorumlu görüp harekete geçmesini sağlar. Bunları yaparken bireyin çevresiyle iş birliği içinde çalışması, grup halinde sorumluluk almaktan keyif alması ve toplum için projeler tasarlaması önemlidir. Yaşadığımız çağda toplumsal sorunlara duyarlı, demokrasiye sadık ve toplumsal yaşama aktif olarak katılan yurttaşlar yetiştirilmesinde sosyal katılım becerisi önemli yer tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenlerinin sosyal katılım becerisi hakkındaki görüşlerinin ortaya çıkarılması ve sosyal katılım becerisini öğrencilere nasıl kazandırdıklarının belirlenmesidir. Çalışma nitel bir çalışma olup veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışma grubunu, Gaziantep İlinde görev yapan 15 Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenlerinin sosyal katılım becerisi hakkındaki görüşlerine bakıldığında sosyal katılım becerisini faydalı buldukları ve öğrencilere kazandırmak adına birtakım etkinliklerde bulundukları sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.
One of the main objectives of the social studies course is to raise active citizens who know their responsibilities by helping students socialize and adapt to the society in which they exist. It is important for students to establish good relations with their immediate environment, to adopt social rules, and to take responsibility from time to time, within the framework of the development of social skills. Social Studies course mediates the acquisition of these social skills to students, and the social participation skill that is aimed to be gained in the relevant course is put to work. Social participation skills enable students to realize social problems and find solutions to these problems, and to take action by considering themselves responsible for the society in the face of problems. While doing these, it is important for the individual to work in cooperation with his environment, to enjoy taking responsibility as a group, and to design projects for the society. In our age, it is an undeniable fact that social participation skills play an important role in raising citizens who are sensitive to social problems, loyal to democracy and actively participate in social life. The aim of this study is to reveal the views of Social Studies Teachers about social participation skills and to determine how they gain social participation skills to students. The study is a qualitative study and the data were obtained using semi-structured interview technique. The study group consists of 15 Social Studies Teachers working in Gaziantep. Considering the views of Social Studies Teachers about social participation skills in the research, it was concluded that they found the social participation skill useful and they carried out some activities in order to gain students.
