dc.description.abstractTarihi insanligin baslangicina dayanan; korunma, örtünme gibi içgüdüsel duygu durumlarini karsilayan kumas, zamanla bedeni ve yasamsal alanlari doldurarak varligini sürdürmüstür. Kumas bu fiziksel misyonunun yani sira antik çaglardan günümüz sanatina kadar da bir ifade araci olarak kullanilmistir. Bu çalismada kumasin sanat tarihsel süreçte geçirdigi anlamsal dönüsümler incelenmistir. Kumasin sanat eserlerindeki üslup farkliliklari üzerinde durulmus, sanat eserlerindeki anlambilimsel ve düsünsel katkilari incelenmistir. Arastirmada nitel arastirma yöntemi kullanilarak literatür taramasi yapilmis, veri toplamanin akabinde kumasin antik çaglardan bugüne kadarki görüntüsel ve imgesel temsilleri açiklanmaya çalisilmistir. Kumasi bir temsil nesnesi olarak ele alan örnek eserler üzerinden kumasin ilettigi metafor ve çözümlemeler ortaya koyulmustur. Arastirmada özellikle kumasin, Erken Rönesans döneminde natüralizm, kutsallik, saflik ve yücelik kavramlariyla iliskisine deginilmistir. Modern sanatta ifade olanaklarinin genislemesi ile kumasin duyulara hitap eden bir anlatim nesnesine dönüsmesi ve günümüze kadar süreçte, degisen yeni anlatim olanaklari ve temsilleri arastirilmistir. Bu çalisma, sanat tarihsel süreçte yer alan kumas imgelerine farkli bir bakis açisi sunmayi amaçlamaktadir.
dc.description.abstractIts history dates back to the beginning of humanity; fabric that meets instinctive emotional statessuch as protection, covering continued its existence by filling the body and vital areas over time. Inaddition to this physical mission, fabric has also been used as a means of expression from ancienttimes to today's art. In this study, the semantic transformations of the fabric in the art historicalprocess were examined. The stylistic differences of the fabric in the works of art were emphasized ,and the semantic and intellectual contributions of the fabric in the works of art were examined. Inthe research, a literature review was made using the qualitative research method, and in the firststage of data collection, the visual and imaginary representations of the fabric from ancient times tothe present were tried to be explained. The metaphors and analyzes conveyed by the fabric areexplained through the sample works that deal with the fabric as an object of representation. In theresearch, especially the relationship of fabric with the concepts of naturalism, sanctity, purity andsublimity in the Early Renaissance period was mentioned. With the expansion of the possibilities ofexpression in modern art, the transformation of the fabric into an object of expression that appeals to the senses and in the process, changing new expression possibilities and representations of thefabric have been researched until today.This study aims to present a different perspective to fabric images in the art historical process.
