Özet

Creativity manifests through the dynamic interplay of aptitude, process, and environment, enabling individuals or groups to generate original and valuable products. STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education provides numerous pathways to nurture this interplay, employing an interdisciplinary approach to address real-life challenges and thereby fostering creativity for the innovation of products. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of STEM education, highlighting key strategies such as project-based learning, problem-based learning, and design-based learning while elucidating their role in fostering creativity. It explores how a STEM-focused learning environment can effectively stimulate creative thinking in educational settings and outlines various methods and measures for assessing creativity in STEM. The chapter also illuminates potential new areas for exploration at the intersection of STEM and creativity, offering valuable insights for future implications. © 2025 Oxford University Press.
