People of thetribe of Kinde, whose mainland was Hadhramaut, came to power possessingimportant titles within the state after having adopted Islam from the beginningof the era of the first four caliphs. Among these was Es’as b. Kays, thegovernor of Hadhramaut, who achieved to hold the utmost titles. Es’as b. Kays’spolitical mobility increasingly improved after accepting Islam in Hz. Prophet’sera. It is well understood that, the tribe of Kinde of which he was a member, his role as a leader and his own political skills had an enormous impact onthis mobility. First, Es’as b. Kays rebelled against Caliph Ebubekir, then hedeclared his loyalty to the state again and joined the Early Isamic Conquestsand he became the governor of Azerbaijan in the time of Caliph Osman. In thisresearch, we evaluated the role and effect of Es’as b. Kays, who was a memberof a prominent tribe with an origin of Yemen, on the political events thatoccurred in the Islamic state whose foundations was built by Hz. Prophet bytaking into consideration the background of the tribe as well.
