Özet
This study has examined the contribution of the 3P (Pause, Prompt, Praise) method and of the cloze technique that aimed at developing the word recognition and reading skills of the student named A. B., a student of Elementary Education with reading difficulty, 1st Level and Fifth Class. This study was conducted during the fall semester of the 2009-2010 educational year, in an elementary school located in the central province of the Sinop City and with a student enrolled in the 5th class, who was determined to have reading difficulty. Storied texts were used as data gathering tools during the activities that aimed measuring student's reading level and reading comprehension skills and at developing his/her reading skills. The frequency of the mistakes made by the student during reading was presented with descriptive data. The application concluded that the reading level of the student progressed from inquietude level to educational level.
