Determination of consumers chicken meat consumption preference in urban areas of Kahramanmaraş

Özet
The aim of this study was to determine the factors affecting chicken (meat) consumption preferences, pattern sand decisions at Kahramanmaraş down-town environment. For this reason, the data were obtained by conducting questionnaire/survey with 384 people selected from different socio-economic group in the mentioned area. Statistical analysis was achieved by using multiple linear regression and logistic regression models. Results show that % 94.8 of consumers, consumed chicken. The amount of chicken consumed by the people were found to be 0.860 kg per month. Individual chicken consumption income and price elasticities were also calculated as 0.51 and -0.20 respectively. The calculations show that the probability of consumption for chicken by women was 2.65 as likely as to consume chicken for men. © 2017, Centenary University. All rights reserved.
