Thematic and Contextual Approach to the Concept of “al-Intikam” in the Qur’an

dc.description.abstractQur’an is thefinal testament sent for the people to understand it. This is only possiblewith a good understanding of the concepts and words contained in the Holy Book.Therefore, it is not possible to correctly understand Qur’an without knowingthe exact meanings of concepts and words included in Qur’an. The concept of al-intikamand its derivatives used in Qur’an also need to be understood. In this article,the concept of al-intikam and its various derivatives are examined.First, the etymological roots and meanings of the concepts in dictionaries arediscussed. Arab poetry and hadiths are used to perform these discussions. Then,the use of al-intikam in Qur’an and its different meanings withincontext are determined. In addition, the reasons why Allah takes al-intikamare included and difference between Allah’s al-intikam and man’s al-intikamis tried to be identified. Finally themeaning relations of “al-intikam” with other words like “al-gazap”, “al-gayz”and “al-sahad” have been analysed.
dc.description.abstractSonkutsal kitap Kur’ân insanlarin anlamasi için gönderilmistir. Bu ise ancak ondayer alan kavramlarin ve sözcüklerin iyi bir sekilde anlasilmasiyla mümkün olur.Bu sebeple Kur’ân’da yer alan kelimeler ve kavramlar tam olarak bilinmedenKur’ân’in dogru bir sekilde anlasilmasi mümkün degildir. Intikam kavramive müstaklari da Kur’ân’da kullanilan ve anlasilmasi gereken kavramlardandir.Iste bu makalede Kur’ân’da yer alan bu kavram ve muhtelif türevleri incelemekonusu yapilmistir. Önce söz konusu kavramin etimolojik kökenleri ve lügatlerdekianlamlari üzerinde durulmustur. Bunu yaparken Arap siirinden ve hadislerden deistifade edilmistir. Sonra mezkûr kavramin Kur’ân’daki kullanim biçimleri veyer aldiklari siyak-sibak içerisinde kazandiklari farkli anlamlaribelirlenmistir. Ayrica Kur’ân’da Allah’in intikam alma sebeplerine yerverilmis ve insanin intikami ile Allah’in intikami arasinda negibi farklar oldugu tespit edilmeye çalisilmistir. Son olarak “intikam”kavraminin “gazap”, “gayz” ve “sehad” gibi diger kelimelerle olan anlamiliskileri tahlil edilmistir.
