Özet

This study was conducted to examine the attitudes of social work students towards children's rights. The survey model was used in line with the purpose of the research. 423 students aged 18-38, 278 (65.7%) female and 145 (34.3%) male, participated in the study. The average age of the students was x¯=21,27±2,62. Demographic Information Form and Children's Rights Attitude Scale were used in the study. Descriptive and explanatory statistics were used together in the analyses. Descriptive statistics were obtained using an independent sample test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). In the study, it was found that social work students' attitudes towards children's rights were highly positive. The findings show that students' attitudes towards children's rights differ significantly in terms of gender, parental union status, whether they have been exposed to neglect/abuse or not, and class. Accordingly, it was concluded that women, those whose parents are separated or deceased, those who have been exposed to neglect/abuse before, and those in the third/fourth grade have higher positive attitudes towards children's rights. The study findings were discussed within the context of the existing literature, and several recommendations were made based on the study's results.
