Özet
Kadin, Cemal Süreya’nin siirlerindeki ana temalardan biridir.
Woman is one of the main themes in Cemal Süreya's poems. In this article, it was determined that the poet apparently approached women with love in his poems up to his book titled Güz Bitigi, and in reality, he attributed positive qualities (superior power, joy) to men, while attributing negative qualities (bad power, danger) to women. It has been revealed that the basis of this is the “fear of women”. Fear of women interestingly manifests itself as "misogyny". With Cemal Süreya's poetic sensitivity, the way to overcome his "fear of women" is poetry. In the article, the views of Jack Holland and Maurice Daumas on "misogyny" and "fear of women" were used. In poems, superior power appears as a masculine quality, and bad power as a feminine trait. Fire is the male principle that shapes the female matter; Dirty and dark water indicates woman. A woman is found to be as dangerous as it is tempting because it arouses the man's sexual desire. Joy is associated with men, while women are associated with danger. The male gaze, who approaches women with stereotypical thoughts and sees them as a sexual object, sees the body before the human in women. The poet transforms the female body into an object of pleasure in many of his poems. These poems carry traces of misogyny. Since they arouse sexual desire in men in misogyny, women are held responsible for this, whether they are good or bad, although they are not guilty. Fear of women is at the root of misogyny. Trying to overcome misogyny with love and poetry, the poet dreams of an intellectual, a brave, attractive woman whose portrait is seen in the poem "Üvercinka"; but it takes time to internalize this woman. Cemal Süreya erases the misogynistic traces caused by the injuries in his life in his poetry book called Güz Bitigi.
