Abstract
This study aims to find out what kind of activities parents prefer to participate in by exam-ining the level of family participation of parents in the preschool period on an activity basis. In addition, it was also examined whether the preferences of the parents differ ac-cording to the variables of education level, type of institution they work, marital status and school type. The sample of this study consists of 65 children aged 48-72 months and 125 parents. As a data collection tool, the Family Involvement Questionnaire (FIQ), which was prepared by Fantuzzo et al. in 2000 and translated into Turkish by Gürsimsek in 2003, was used. SPSS program was used in the analysis of the data. Research questions were answered with paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test and ANOVA tests. According to the results obtained; mothers indicate that they participate in family involvement activities more than their spouses. Mothers who graduated from primary school stated that they partici-pated in school-based activities more than mothers with undergraduate degrees. There is no significant difference in fathers' family participation levels according to education level. In addition, when the answers given by the mothers and fathers to the family participation scale were examined according to the type of institution they work, it was found that while there was no significant difference between the fathers' involvement in family participation studies, it was determined that the mothers working in the government institution showed less participation than the mothers who did not work.
