Öğe A Meta-Analysis of the Effect of Creative Writing Practices Carried Out Within the Scope of Turkish Language Arts Course on Students' Attitudes(Mehmet KURUDAYIOGLU, 2019) Sahin, NurullahCreative writing practices that are listed among theimportant activities for the cognitive development of students, also come tothe forefront as a method that is suitable for the contemporarystudent-centered education. Although there are many studies in literature onthis topic, there is no meta-analysis which intends to reach more specificresults and generalizations by combining the results of all these studies. Forthis reason, the aim of the present research was to examine effect of creativewriting practices carried out within the scope of Turkish language arts courseon students' attitudes, using meta-analysis. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis(CMA) software was used in all the analyses required throughout the research.At the end of the analysis which was carried out within 95% reliability rangeaccording to the fixed effects model, the average effect size was calculated as0.669. When this finding is interpreted according to Cohen et al., (2011), it is seen that creative writing activities have amoderate effect on the improvement of students' attitudes.Öğe Effects of augmented reality in teaching old turkish language mementoes on student achievement and motivation(Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, 2019) Sahin, Nurullah; Ozcan, Mehmet FatihThe Turkish history has a very rich content in literary context as well as political and administrative achievements. The Turkish language, which dates back to B.C., has become one of the great languages that continues its existence until modern day, leaving priceless reference guide behind. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of lessons taught using activities designed with Augmented Reality Technology on the academic achievement and motivation of students in the teaching of the subjects of Yusuf Has Hacib, Kasgarli Mahmud, Kutadgu Bilig and Divanu Lugati’t-Turk which are among the cultural heritages called “Old Turkish Language Mementoes.” In this context, Augmented Reality environments were designed in relation to the mentioned works and authors and these designs were uploaded to AURASMA 3D application and made available for smart phones. Quantitative research model was adapted in the study and the quasi-experimental method with pre-test-post-test control group was used. At the end of the study whose procedures took 6 weeks in total with the involvement of 50 college students, it was determined that AR activities has a positive effect on the academic success of the students and increases the academic success of the students, and it creates a positive environment which motivates the students towards the lesson and learning. © 2019, Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences. All rights reserved.Öğe Examination Of Much Frequented Cafeterias in Sinop in The Context Of Turkish Consciousness and Turkish Cultural Values(Kirgizistan Türkiye Manas Üniversitesi, 2019) Sahin, NurullahWhen looking at the history of world culture and civilization, we see that Turkish culture and civilization is an important cornerstone. Throughout their history of over four-thousand years, the Turks established numerous states in Asia, Europe, and Africa, and developed an advanced civilization. The Turks, who are the one of the most rooted nations of human history, have guided world politics at many breaks in history and played an active role in the formation of civilizations. The purpose of this study is to determine the status of various elements belonging to Turkish culture and civilization in the busy cafeterias located in the city center of Sinop Province where these cultural elements are reflected and kept alive. In this descriptive study, the technique of observation applied for data collection. In the analysis of the elicited data, descriptive method was used. Firstly, the elements belonging to Turkish culture and civilization were examined in busy cafeterias located in Sinop city center. In this regard, the cafeterias which are most preferred by people in Sinop city center were visited, and the characteristics of these cafeterias such as their names, menus, space designs, accessories used were examined. In doing so, the effects of Turkish culture and civilization on these features of cafeteria were scrutinized. Based on obtained the results, it has been found that while elements belonging to Turkish culture and civilization are given space at certain rates in the busiest places in Sinop province center, elements belonging to foreign cultures are given a larger space.
