    EBELIK ÖGRENCILERININ BEBEKLIK DÖNEMI YAPILAN GELENEKSEL UYGULAMALARA YÖNELIK GÖRÜSLERININ DEGERLENDIRILMESI

    Amaç: Bir üniversitede ögrenim gören ebelik bölümü ögrencilerinin bebeklik dönemi (0-12 ay) yapilan geleneksel uygulamalara yönelik görüslerinin degerlendirilmesidir. Yöntem: 2019-2020 akademik yilinda yapilan tanimlayici kesitsel nitelikteki bu çalismaya 200 ögrenci katilim saglamistir. Veriler, gönüllü katilimcilara yüz yüze görüsme teknigi ile 52 sorudan olusan bir soru formu uygulanarak toplanmistir. Verilerin degerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik dagilimlar kullanilmistir. Bulgular: Ebelik ögrencilerinin %95’i ilk verilen gidanin anne sütü oldugunu, %51’i ilk 30 dakika içinde beslenmesi gerektigini, %77.5’i anne sütünü arttirmak için bol sulu gida tüketildigini belirtmistir. Bebek bakimina yönelik yapilan geleneksel uygulamalarda katilimcilarin %62’si göbek düsmesi için hiçbir sey yapilmadigini, bebegin kokmamasi için tuzlama (%26) ve bez yerine veya pisik olmamasi amaciyla höllük (%3.5) uygulamalarinin nadir uygulandigini, yenidogan sariligina karsi sari bez/tülbent kullanildigini (%45.5) belirtmistir. Kabizlik, ishal, öksürük ve ates durumunda ise genel yaklasimin bebegi doktora götürme oldugu saptanmistir. Sonuç: Arastirmaya katilan ebelik bölümü ögrencilerinin önemli bir kismi bebek bakimina iliskin farkli geleneksel uygulamalarin ebeveynler tarafindan kullanildigina iliskin görüs ve gözlemlerinin oldugu belirlenmistir. Bebek bakiminda zararli olabilecek geleneksel uygulamalarin bilinmesi, saglik üzerine olumsuz sonuçlarin önlenebilmesi noktasinda klinik ve saha çalismalari açisindan önemlidir.

    Elderly, Depression, and Nursing

    The increase in the frequency and duration of depression with age is an important psychological problem in the elderly. The priorities in the nursing care of depressive elderly patients with declining life expectancy and life quality are to prevent suicide attempts, enhance the patient's self-care ability, provide support for the patient and family, and to keep them advised about care and treatment. This review aims to contribute to nursing care plans by re-examining the topic of elderly depression in terms of the nursing profession.

    Internet Addiction, Cyberbullying, and Victimization Relationship in Adolescents A Sample from Turkey

    The study is a descriptive and relational study carried out with an aim to analyze the effects of Internet use and Internet addiction on cyber victimization and cyberbullying among adolescents. The universe of the study consists of the students (N = 3,978) studying at high schools in a city center located in the Black Sea Region. The students were determined by a stratified and simple random sampling method, whereas the sample of the study included 2,422 voluntary high school students. The data were collected through the Adolescent Information Form, Internet Addiction Scale, and Cyber Victim and Bullying Scale. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics such as number, percentage, average, and standard deviation were used, whereas independent samples t test, one-way analysis of variance, and correlation coefficients were used to compare the groups. The predictive effects of independent variables on cyber victimization and cyberbullying were investigated with multiple linear regression analysis. The average age of the adolescents participating in the study is 16.23 +/- 1.11 years. The mean scores were calculated as 25.59 +/- 15.88 for Internet addiction, 29.47 +/- 12.65 for cyber victimization, and 28.58 +/- 12.01 for cyberbullying. In our study, it was found that the Internet addiction, cyber victimization, and cyberbullying scores of the adolescents were low, but cyber victimization and cyberbullying were related to Internet usage characteristics and Internet addiction. Internet usage characteristics, cyber victimization, and bullying prevalence and relational studies should be done in adolescents. It is recommended to raise awareness of the harmful use of the Internet to families.

    The effect of fatalism perception of pregnant women on taking precautions against the risk of virus transmission in the Covid-19 pandemic in Turkey

    Covid-19 pandemic has affected all over the world, particularly affecting risky groups and causing the deaths of millions of people. Owing to the systemic changes that occur during pregnancy, pregnant women are among the risk groups. In this study, we aimed to determine the effect of the fatalism tendency of the pregnant women on the precautions they take to protect themselves from the risk of virus transmission. We conducted this study as descriptive cross-sectional. We collected the data between February 11(th) and March 24(th), 2021. The sample of this study comprised of 418 pregnant women. Fatalism tendency was high in the pregnant women with low education and income levels and housewives. It was determined that the pregnant women with a high tendency of fatalism wore less masks. The beliefs of individuals should not be ignored while creating health policies in the fight against the pandemic.
