Methodology-The statistical program SmartPLS was used for data analysis.Design-The population consists of tourists who visited corum/Turkey, and convenience sampling method was applied. Four hundred and seventy tourists participated in the research between July and August 2022.Findings - Core archeological attractions, historical-cultural knowledge, leisure activities and archeotourism'development of the destination have a positive effect on the intention to participate in archaeotourism. On the other hand, additional archeological attractions and participatory archeological activities do not significantly influence the intention to participate in archaeotourism.Originality of the research - The study includes exceptional variables to demonstrate the impact of attractive motivational factors on the intention to participate in archaeotourism. Furthermore, the statistical analysis provides desirable motivational factors for archaeotourism to determine the intention to visit archaeotourism sites. Thus, the research enables the determination of visitation intention for a destination in the context of archaeotourism and attempts to bridge the gap between tourists' decisions and their visits. By modeling the effects of archaeotourism incentives on tourists' visitation intentions, evidence and knowledge gaps in the literature are also addressed.Öğe Based on the perception of ethics in social commerce platforms: Adopting SEM and MCDM approaches for benchmarking customers in rural communities(Springer, 2023) Sadaa, Abdullah Mohammed; Ganesan, Yuvaraj; Khaw, Khai Wah; Alnoor, Alhamzah; Abbas, Sammar; Chew, XinYing; Bayram, Gul ErkolThe study aimed to determine customers' perceptions of the ethics of social commerce platforms by investigating the role of the impact of information quality, information credibility, website quality, innovativeness, altruism, sense of belongingness, self-enhancement, social support, and valuation of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) on the perception of ethics of social commerce platforms. In addition, the strength of the relationship between these factors and the perception of ethics of social commerce platforms was determined by the mediating role of the perceived risk of ethical violations. To this end, this study complements academic literature by integrating structural equation modeling (SEM) and multi criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques. In order to complete the strategic decisive solution, this study uses a survey to collect data from customers of rural communities in Malaysia and Turkey. The results demonstrate that perceived risk of ethical violations has a partial mediating role in the relationship between dependent variables and the perception of ethics of social commerce platforms for Malaysia and Turkey. Benchmarking and ranking customers from best to worst based on the perception of ethics of social commerce would identify customers with a high perception of the ethics of social commerce platforms and motivate them as opinion leaders of such platforms. Contrarily, social commerce platforms can treat worst-ranked customers with caution and strive to turn a negative perception into positive ethics. Besides, the cross-cluster study at the level of Asia and Europe would contribute to the literature to identify insights into the differences and similarities between the Asian and European contexts based on multiple and diverse cultures regarding social commerce ethics of rural communities.Öğe Community Attachment, Tourist Contact, and Resident Attitudes Toward Tourism Development of Kashmir Valley(Inst Tourism, 2024) Basheer, Shakeel; Malik, Younis Mohammad; Walia, Sandeep; Bayram, Gul Erkol; Valeri, MarcoThis research study aims to comprehend residents' views towards tourism development in Kashmir Valley, involving the constructs of community attachment and tourist contact. This study aims to explain the effect of environmental attitudes of hotel guests visiting green and non-green hotels on their ERB. In the research, hotels with different concepts were handled separately and a comparative analysis was made between both customer types.Design/methodology/approachThe study was assessed using two separate models: one for green hotel guests and another for non-green hotel guests. Data were collected from 205 participants from green hotel guests in Turkiye and 206 participants from hotel guests visiting non-green hotels in Turkiye, using a survey form with a convenience sampling method. The hypotheses were analyzed with the structural equation model and multi-group analysis (MGA) in the Smart PLS statistical program.FindingsThe ecocentric attitude positively affects political and community activism but does not impact recycling, educational behavior, green consumerism or overall ERB. The technocentric attitude negatively influences recycling, educational behavior, green consumerism, community activism and ERB but does not negatively affect political activism. The dualcentric attitude positively impacts all ERB sub-dimensions. The multi-group analysis (MGA) revealed that dualcentric attitudes have a stronger influence on green consumerism, political activism and recycling behavior among green hotel guests compared to non-green hotel guests.Practical implicationsThese findings directly impact hotel managers, underscoring the strategic significance of adopting and advocating green practices. Implementing environmentally friendly initiatives not only appeals to environmentally conscious consumers but also holds the potential to cultivate ERB among all guests. By integrating sustainability into marketing strategies, hotels can communicate their commitment to environmental stewardship, positively influencing guests' environmental attitudes and behaviors.Originality/valueThe paper's key contribution is its comparative analysis of ERB between guests at green and non-green hotels. It reveals how tourists' environmental attitudes influence their hotel choices and behaviors, offering insights into sustainable tourism. Additionally, it explores the differences between ecocentric, technocentric and dualcentric attitudes, enhancing our understanding of how varying environmental concerns shape tourists' behaviors and choices and contributing to the broader discussion on environmental psychology in tourism.Öğe Effect of smart tourism technology experience (STTE) on tourist satisfaction and tourist happiness in Bordeaux: the mediation role of self-gratification(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2024) Yuksel, Faruk; Kement, Uzeyir; Dogan, Seden; Bayram, Gul Erkol; Bayar, Sinan Baran; Cobanoglu, CihanPurposeThis study aims to investigate the effects of smart tourism technology experience (STTE) on tourist satisfaction and happiness in Bordeaux, with a focus on understanding the mediating role of self-gratification. To this end, dual-stage Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) were adopted to determine the leadership style of family firms in Malaysia.Design/methodology/approachAn exploratory design (i.e. questionnaire) was used to collect data from 528 workers in the family firms in Malaysia.FindingsAccording to the results, leadership styles and long-term organizational energy have a positive and significant relationship. Furthermore, organizational ambidexterity mediates the relationship between leadership styles and organizational energy sustainability. On the other hand, based on nonlinear and compensatory relationships, the ANN method predicted a bureaucratic leadership style typical in Malaysian family businesses. The results of this study indicate transformational, transactional and bureaucratic leadership styles affect sustainable organizational energy. Besides, organizational ambidexterity fully mediates the relationship between leadership styles and sustainable organizational energy. On the other hand, the results of non-compensatory relationships revealed organizational ambidexterity is the most determinant of sustainable organizational energy, followed by bureaucratic leadership. As a result, leadership styles encourage human resources to perform tasks with energy and vitality. In family businesses, bureaucratic leadership increases job immersion and positive motivations toward work challenges.Research limitations/implicationsFrom a practitioner's perspective, leaders and practitioners must encourage creativity and idea generation to give members sufficient strength to work and focus on goals that support building sustainable organizational energy. A family business is a type of capitalism that significantly impacts employees. The family-owned businesses surveyed by first-generation families lack subsidiaries and are ingrained in a paternalistic culture that offers employees greater security at a lower wage. Although there are few details, the study sample size is small and has limitations. This study suggests that understanding the leadership styles on sustainable organizational energy and using the mediator role of organizational ambidexterity in the family business has immense value. Characteristics such as transformational, transactional and bureaucratic leadership styles have a significant role in sustainable organizational energy. Also, organizational ambidexterity is the mediator for the relationship between leadership styles and sustainable organizational energy.Originality/valueThis study sheds light on the effect of leadership styles on sustainable organizational energy through organizational ambidexterity in family firms. In this context, the novelty of this study includes two perceptions. The first explored the impact of exploration and exploitation on sustainable organizational energy. The second investigates linear and nonlinear relationships to predict sustainable organizational energy determinants.Öğe Macro-economic indicators and housing price index in Spain: fresh evidence from FMOLS and DOLS(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2025) Raza, Ali; Asif, Laiba; Tursoy, Turgut; Seraj, Mehdi; Bayram, Gul ErkolPurpose This study aims to determine how changes in macroeconomic indicators and the housing prices index (HPI) are related.
