Aşırı Turizm Bağlamında Kalabalık Algısının Destinasyon Markası ve Tekrar Ziyaret Niyetine Etkisi: Sinop Örneği
    (2025) Bayram, Ali Turan

Challenges and opportunities in rural women's entrepreneurship: Navigating financial, infrastructural, and societal barriers
(IGI Global, 2024) Ergün, Zeynep; Bayram, Ali Turan; Bayram, Gül Erkol
This chapter examines the unique challenges and opportunities faced by rural women entrepreneurs, shaped by socio-economic and cultural factors. Key challenges include limited access to financial resources, inadequate infrastructure, restrictive societal norms, all of which hinder business growth and sustainability. Financial barriers are significant, as rural women often lack the collateral and credit histories required by traditional lending institutions, limiting their access to necessary capital. Social norms further restrict women's ability to pursue entrepreneurship, prioritizing household roles over business activities and limiting access to networks and mentorship. Infrastructural deficiencies, such as poor transportation and unreliable communication, also impede operations and competitiveness. However, emerging opportunities, such as sustainable development and digital platforms, provide rural women with new markets and ways to connect with consumers. Addressing these challenges will empower rural women and contribute to inclusive economic development in rural communities. © 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.

Effects of emotional culture of joy on employee happiness: A moderated-mediation model in hospitality
(Elsevier, 2026) Alyousef, Muna I.; Khattak, Sajid Rahman; Alwadi, Belal Mahmoud; Bayram, Ali Turan; Dukhaykh, Suad; Al Hakami, Husain Mohammed
Employee happiness at work is vital for improving performance, engagement, and retention, especially in the hospitality industry. This study explores how an emotional culture of joy (ECJ), a workplace atmosphere that promotes shared feelings of joy and positivity, shapes happiness at work (HaW). Specifically, we examine whether psychological safety (PsySaf) and relational attachment (RA) explain this relationship and whether work autonomy (WA) strengthens these effects. Data were collected from 522 hotel and restaurant employees in Sinop, T & uuml;rkiye, using a three-wave survey to reduce bias. Results from covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) show that ECJ has both a direct and indirect positive effect on HaW through PsySaf and RA. Furthermore, WA amplifies these indirect effects, indicating that employees experience greater happiness when they have autonomy. Overall, the findings highlight that fostering a joyful emotional culture and supporting employee autonomy can build psychologically safe and connected workplaces that enhance happiness. This study contributes to the Broaden-and-Build and Conservation of Resources theories and offers practical insights for hospitality managers aiming to create positive, resilient, and engaged teams.

(Mdpi, 2024) Huang, Tai; Fang, Chongbo; Dukhaykh, Suad; Bayram, Gul Erkol; Bayram, Ali Turan
This study fills a research gap by examining how tourist participation, well-being, eco-friendly engagement, and digital infrastructure affect tourism results. We assessed 3692 tourists in Jilin Province, China, using structural equation modeling. We found that tourist participation is directly associated with tourist well-being, and eco-friendly engagement positively mediates tourist participation and tourist well-being. Furthermore, digital infrastructure moderates tourist participation and tourist well-being. Key findings reveal that actively participating in tourism activities considerably increases visitor well-being. Furthermore, eco-friendly behaviors and digital infrastructure may improve tourist well-being and overall experience. These findings may influence many tourist features in the Jilin Province of China. Tourism management should first provide a range of fun and engaging activities to boost tourist well-being. Second, promoting sustainable practices protects the environment and improves visitors' quality of life. Third, digital infrastructure expenditures support these activities and enhance visitor pleasure. Policymakers should prioritize sustainable tourism. They should employ digital technologies to promote sustainability and improve services. Addressing these concerns may strengthen the country's economy, sustainable development, and tourism. This study enhances tourist well-being theory by adding eco-friendly interaction, digital infrastructure, and visitor participation. It illuminates the importance of technology, sustainability, and active involvement in producing enjoyable tourist experiences.

The role of movies/TV series in building country/ city/destination brands
(IGI Global, 2016) Şahbaz, Ramazan Pars; Bayram, Ali Turan
TV series and movies which have become one of the most effective media tools, has a fairly determinative power on perceptions, opinions, reactions, and behaviours. The effect of movies and TV series on destination advertising can be appeared as informing, offering a perspective for the spectator, creating an image and directing the image. The places where the film is located in or the places that are told in the film take place relatedly in the spectators' minds. Accordingly, a destination can obtain an image and become a brand by presenting in a film or locating in a film. In that sense, this part is important in terms of analysing the role of TV series and movies on promotion of country and building a destination image, stressing that the power should be used to create an image about the region where is located or told in the film or to change the current image in individuals' minds by destinations efficiently. This part mainly inclines on these points and the subject will be analysed profoundly. © 2017, IGI Global. All rights reserved.
