Öğe Analysis of complaints regarding recreation and animation services in hotel businesses(Mahmut DEMIR, 2023) Arikan, ErsinWith the rapid development of digital media, consumer awareness has also soared. People who do not refrain from asking questions and doing research share their complaints not only with institutions but also through online tools. Today, with the increase in complaint channels, the complaint rate is also increasing. In this study, the document analysis was conducted to examine 317 complaints written by hotel business customers on the sikayetvar.com portal, one of the channels through which complaints can be reported online. In the study, consumer complaints were evaluated by expressing a complaint, waiting for a solution, and warning. It also analyzed complaint issues in staff, location, physical facilities, fees, and activity management. The study found that the most common purpose of the complaints was to express grievances. In the analysis of the subject of complaints, the variety of activities, the inadequacies of the animation areas, and the behavior of the staff was identified as the most problematic issues.Öğe Investigation of Procrastination Behaviour in Hotel Businesses in Terms of Demographic Variables: The Case of Alanya(Giresun Üniversitesi, 2021) Kahyaoglu, Mehmet; Arikan, ErsinIn this study, it was aimed to determine the organizational procrastination behaviour levels of hotel business employees and the differences of this behaviour according to various variables Within the scope of the study, a questionnaire was obtained from 419 people working in five-star hotels in Alanya using the convenience sampling method between August – October 2019. Independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to determine the differences in the organizational procrastination behaviours of the participants according to some variables. In the light of the findings, it has been determined that the employees generally do not exhibit a very high degradation behaviour. It has been determined that there is a statistically significant difference in the procrastination behaviours of the participants according to their gender, tourism education status, seasonal or full year status of their businesses, educational status, age, salary, duties, departments and experiences.Öğe Representation of the perception of expensiveness for tourism destinations in internet newspapers: the case of Bodrum(Mahmut DEMIR, 2022) Arikan, Ersin; Doganay Ergen, FatmaDestination image, one of the crucial issues for potential tourists, is considered necessary for successful destination management. In this context, since the internet has an essential place in the information sources, which is one of the elements that make up the destination image, it is aimed to determine the general distribution and content types of the news about the expensiveness on the internet newspapers in the example of Bodrum. Secondary sources were used through the “Google News Search Engine” and content analysis was carried out on the data. The news published in the Google news application between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021, in all different internet newspapers containing the words "Bodrum" and "expensive" were evaluated. As a result of the evaluations, it was determined that the news about the expensiveness of Bodrum took place in June the most. Generally, it is seen that the news consists of news headlines and content containing negative statements. However, it has been concluded that the news with a solution suggestion is not frequently included in the news about the expensiveness of Bodrum, and the image of lahmacun is used the most.Öğe Using Digital Media in Destination Promotion: The Case of YouTube(Karabük Üniversitesi, 2020) Çilesiz, Emre; Arikan, ErsinIt accompanies the need for a more rational, coordinated and efficient resource management that contributes to the growth of tourism and the formation of a tourist product in the modern tourism reality worldwide. The complexity and interdisciplinary nature of the tourism sector enables the distribution of benefits to numerous related sectors. For this reason, it is difficult for a touristic product, namely a destination, to enter new markets and the promotion costs are high. Due to the uncertainty of benefits and the scattering in the sector, it is necessary for public institutions to be involved in target tourism marketing activities or undertake directly because of risks and costs that exceed private enterprises. In this context, the content of the promotional films belonging to various countries were evaluated and the issues addressed on these films were discussed in this study. In this context, videos selected with various criteria determined were watched and analyzed with the evaluation form created according to certain themes. As a result of the analysis; it is concluded that the countries have videos of different features in terms of the fiction and structure of the promotional videos. While the promotional and cultural attractions of the countries are emphasized in the promotional films, it is also determined that there are information about the complementary activities, entertainment centers and entertainment activities that visitors can spend time during their holidays.Öğe Yükseköğretim Kurumlarındaki Eğitim Mutfaklarında Karşılaşılan Sorunlar ve Çözüm Önerileri(2018) Arikan, Ersin; Sürücü, Özlem Altunöz; Arman, AdemBu araştırmanın amacı üniversitelerin aşçılık, gastronomi ve mutfak sanatları bölümlerinin uygulama dersleri amacıyla kullandıkları eğitim mutfaklarında yaşanan sorunlar ve bu sorunlara ilişkin çözüm önerilerini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu üniversite bünyesinde eğitim mutfağı olan aşçılık, gastronomi ve mutfak sanatlarında görevli öğretim elemanları oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubunu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden olan ölçüt örnekleme ile belirlenen 15 öğretim elemanı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yöntemi ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretim elemanları görüşlerine göre, fiziki mekan yetersizliği, ekipman yetersizliği, malzeme eksikliği ve bütçe yetersizliği en önemli sorunlar olarak belirtilmiştir. Sorunların çözümünde bütçenin arttırılması, fiziki durum iyileştirmeleri ve öğrenci kontenjanlarına yönelik öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
