Öğe Coastal tourism development in Sinop as an emerging rural destination: A preliminary study from the residents' perspective(Escola Superior Gestao, Hotelaria & Turismo Univ Algarve, 2020) Daskin, Mustafa; Tiril, Alpay; Bozkurt, AlperThis study proposes to explore the economic, sociocultural, and environmental effects of coastal tourism development in a Turkish context. It adopts a quantitative approach and performed a random sampling technique. The survey data was collected from a sample of local people in Sinop/Turkey and total number of 252 utilizable questionnaires was gathered and analyzed through descriptive statistics. ANOVA test was also applied in order to compute the perceptional differences among demographical groups. The findings demonstrate that while majority of residents have positive perceptions in general, some agree with negative economic, sociocultural, and environmental effects of coastal tourism in the area. Specifically, they perceive that tourism raises the cost of products and services and as a result of an increase in living costs. ANOVA test shows that there were differences between educational groups in negative environmental impacts and age groups in positive economic impacts. In terms of sustainable coastal tourism, the present work procures further addition to tourism literature and also offers beneficial implications to industry practitioners.Öğe Sağlıklı Beslenme ve Geleneksel Gıdalar(2015) Kocatepe, Demet; Tiril, AlpaySon yıllarda artan kanser, alerji, obezite ve kalp krizi vakaları gibi toplumun her kesimini etkileyen sağlık sorunları ile geleneksel beslenmenin terkedilmesi arasında ilişki olduğu bilinmektedir. Sağlıklı beslenme açısından geleneksel gıdaların üretimi ve tüketiminin öneminin anlaşılması öncelikle annelerin bilinçlendirilmesi ve topluma örnek olabilecek kişilerin özendirmesiyle mümkün olabilecektir. Bu çalışmada geleneksel gıdaların sağlıklı beslenme açısından önemi vurgulanarak, ev bahçeleri ve balkonlarda küçük ölçekli tarımsal üretim ile tarhana, reçel, pekmez, yoğurt, peynir, ekmek vb. gibi geleneksel gıdaların ev ortamında üretiminin bir bilinç ve halk eğitimi konusu olması amaçlanmıştır.Öğe Wetland management in Turkey: Problems, achievements and perspectives(Academic Journals, 2009) Karadeniz, Nilguel; Tiril, Alpay; Baylan, EmelDue to the extremely variable topography and diverse climate, Turkey has a great biodiversity in the term of flora and fauna. One of the main features that compose the rich biodiversity in Turkey is wetlands. Although the ecological and economical worth of the wetlands have been valued recently and considerable initiatives have been carried out in Turkey for the last decade, there are still significant threats and problems concerning the conservation and management of the wetlands. It is aimed in this paper to inquire into the issues experienced to date about wetlands and to discuss the steps that have been taken for solution of these issues in order to evolve suggestions that will provide guidance over and support to the road maps developed to ensure consistency of the wetlands in Turkey.
