    The Pioneering Work That Brought The Historical Character Kür Sad To The Literary Field: Sabahattin Ali And EsirlerSUMMARYMany events that Sabahattin Ali, one of the most famous names of modern Turkish literature, experienced until his death contribute to his recognition at different levels. The works that Sabahattin Ali wrote during his prison life attracted attention, but Esirler, the only play he stated that he completed in prison, did not attract as much attention as the works he wrote in other genres. The importance of the work is due to the fact that it created a space to express the author's feelings about captivity and freedom, and that it is the first example of the creation of the historical character named Kür Sad, whose existence created controversy in the history academy and caused various works to be produced about him.The character of Kür Sad has come to life in different literary works until today. The Turkish society came to know Kür Sad through Nihal Atsiz's works called Bozkurtlarin Ölümü and Bozkurtlar Diriliyor, which constitute the Bozkurtlar series. However, the play Esirler by Sabahattin Ali is included in a limited number of sources. The formation process of the Kür Sad character in social memory emphasizes one aspect of the literary interaction between the two artists.In this study, the writing process of the play Esirler, which constantly occupied Sabahattin Ali's mind in Konya/Sinop prison and was completed in these prisons, will be emphasized and this work will be associated with his life. In this way, it will be indirectly examined why the play Esirler has not received attention in the literature and why it does not hold as much space in the reader's memory as his other works. In addition, the existence processes of the play character Kür Sad in history and literature will be examined.Key Words: Kür Sad, Sabahattin Ali, Esirler, Nihal Atsiz, Bozkurtlar, Konya and Sinop Prisons
