Öğe A Case Study: Examining Barrier-Free Stadium Accessibility (Kocaeli Stadium Example)(Kocaeli Büyüksehir Belediyesi, 2024) Sekban, GülsahThis study was conducted to examine the accessibility of Kocaeli Stadium for people with limited mobility, including their transportation to the stadium and the stadium’s accessibility according to UEFA and ADA criteria. The study was supported by a literature review, information from the stadium manager, and photographic images. Accessibility to Kocaeli Stadium (including the public transportation routes used for travel to and from the stadium, stadium bus stops, public transportation vehicles, accessible parking, accessible entrance and exit gates, ramps, accessible toilets, access routes within the stadium, and features of accessible special seating areas) was analyzed and questioned in terms of UEFA standarts for people with disabilities. Within the scope of the findings, accessibility for people with disabilities was evaluated and solution suggestions were developed to improve the current situation. The importance of prioritizing the accessibility of Kocaeli Stadium for people with disabilities was emphasized.
