Öğe Assessment For Quality Of Life Of Patients Receiving Physical Therapy(Pera Yayincilik Hizmetleri, 2010) Altay, Birsen; Gonener, H. Demet; Islam, Kubra; Gov, PinarThis research has been conducted fort he purpose of determining the quality of life of patients receiving physical theraphy and suffering from chronic pain and the factors affecting the quality of life. Complement sectional type of this research sample was created from 150 patients those applied to Romatem in Samsun to receive physical theraphy because of the chronic pain between November 2007- February 2008, Patient information form and Quality of Life Scale were used for data collection. Data which obtained from forms and scales were evaluated by using persentage, aritmetic groups of patients Student t Test was utilized, At the end of this research, it is found that the functional score of patients receiving physical theraphy was 51.52 +/- 22.73, wellbeing score was 48.33 +/- 15.05, general heath score was 50.33 +/- 16.35, global quality of life score was 50.19 +/- 16.38. Significant differences were seen between groups when the quality of life compared according to educational status, social security and occupational status (p<0.05). It is determined that the difference was caused by non-literate and housewives patients scores, because they are lower than the other groups. Significant differences were seen between groups when the quality of life compared according to have chronic disease, to experience pain and to use constant drug (p<0.05). In this study it is seen that the scores of patients' life quality are moderate and some demographic differences affects the quality of life.Öğe Caring Of A Mental-Impaired Child At Home And Nursing Approach(Aves Press Ltd, 2010) Gonener, H. The last definition about the mental impaired children was made by American Association Mental Retardation, According to this definiton, a mental-impaired person can't fulfill his/her mental function entirely and show his/her ability in social, conceptual and practical accordance skills, This disability begins before 18 years old. The World Health Organization expressed that there are 2 or 3% of mental impaired people in a society. The most outstanding feature of a mental-impaired child is that his/her development Is slower than his/her peers, This retardation is seen in all development stages. The etiologic factor of a major of mental impairment isn't known but it is thought that the external factors like infection, trauma and toxins, prenatal, perinatal or postnatal factors, birth problems and genetic factors cause the mental impairment. Mental impairment requires long term medical impairment and caring and caring at home provides children to feel themselves more comfortable, happier and more free. Among the health disdplines, in services of caring at home, the caring role is the duty of nursing profession. Lots of nursing enterprise must be carried out to raise the mental-impaired children's health levels. In addition to help child and his/her parents in daily life activities, nurses must improve the methods about coping with the protection and assimilation of their mental health in depression period,Öğe The Knowledge of Doctors and Nurses who are not Working in Clinics Related with Child Health on Breast Feeding(Istanbul Univ, Fac Nursing, 2010) Gonener, H. Demet; Balat, Ayse; Aydin, NerimanAim: Regardless of their department they work, all doctors and nurses were consulted for their experiences about every point on health due to being an health proffesional. Method: For this reason, this study is a descriptive study that aims to determine the knowledge of doctors and nurses who are not working in clinics related with child health on breast feeding. This study was performed in an university hospital and a national hospital between April 2006 and September 2006. The total of 200 samples were selected from doctors and nurses who were not study in delivery room, pediatric clinics or obstetric-gynecologist clinics. The datas were collected by a form that was developed by researchers. These datas were evaluated by percentage, chi-square, Fisher's exact, Kolmogorov-Simirnov Z tests in SPSS for Windows 13.0. Results: In this study, it was determined that 76% of participants were nurse, 24% of participants were doctor and 67.5 % of participants hadn't worked in a preventive (primary) health services. It was determined that less than half of participants had attended to course/seminar/symposiums after their education. Therefore, it was also determined that the nurses who were undergraduate or master students believed that taurin; is an importat molecule present in breast milk; supports the growth of babies more commonly than the nurses who were high school graduated. There was no difference between the professions in comparisions of levels of knowledge about the amounts of protein, lipid, lactose and cholesterol in breast milk, the superiority of breast milk over formula and time of beginning of additional nutrition. Conclusions: According to these findings, it can be suggested that doctors and nurses should be incited to participate in course/seminar/symposiums about breast feeding, they should be informed for new informations about breast feeding and it should be created practice areas where nurses can easily perform their theoretical knowledges.
