Öğe Religious Fatigue Scale: A Validity and Reliability Study(Ataturk Univ, 2025) Aydin, Cuneyd; Genc, AhmetThe concept of religious fatigue, which is considered one of the negative effects of modernism on individuals' religious lives, has been addressed in some academic studies conducted in our country in recent years and has been discussed on media platforms. For this reason, it has become important to examine the concept of religious fatigue and measure whether individuals feel a sense of fatigue or burnout in their religious lives. In this study, it was aimed to develop the Religious Fatigue Scale (RFS) in order to determine the level of fatigue individuals feel in their religious lives for different reasons. In the research, a survey design, which is one of the quantitative methods, was used. The data for the study were obtained from two separate sample groups (446+490) aged 18 and over, selected by a convenience sampling method, using a personal information questionnaire and a draft scale form. Expert opinion was used for the content validity of the scale, and factor analysis was used for construct validity. As a result of EFA, it was determined that the factor load values of the scale were above .45, the item-total correlations varied between .36 and .54, it consisted of 17 items collected under five factors, and its factors explained 66% of the total variance. In addition, the obtained structure was tested with CFA and it was found that the structure showed a good fit (chi(2)=170.16, sd=107, p<.001, RMSEA=0.035, SRMR=0.032, NNFI=0.98, GFI=0.96, AGFI=0.94, CFI=0.99). The results of the analysis conducted on the reliability of the scale revealed that the Cronbach Alpha values of the overall scale and its sub-dimensions (between .71 and .83) and the item total correlation coefficients (between .36 and .54, p<.01) were at a sufficient level for reliability. According to these results, it has been concluded that the RFS is a valid and reliable measurement tool.Öğe Validity and Reliability for the Turkish Adaptation of the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale(Hacettepe Univ, 2022) Genc, Ahmet; Seyrek, Ozgur Demirci; Aydin, CuneydThis study aimed to adapt the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale (MTS) developed by Frank, Jennings and Greenberg (2016) into Turkish. To this end, the scale items were first translated into Turkish and then translated back into English. Data were collected with the scale from two different teacher groups of whom ages varied between 23 and 57 years old. The confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) that were performed with the data obtained from the groups found the goodness-of-fit indices of the scale to be sufficient, and the two-factor structure of the scale was confirmed. To examine the criterion-related validity of the scale, its relationship with Maslach Burnout Inventory - Educators Survey (Ince and Sahin, 2015) was examined, and a significant relationship was found as expected (r= .45 -.42, p<.01). The internal consistency coefficients were acceptable for the subscales (.70 for intrapersonal mindfulness, .61 for interpersonal mindfulness). In addition, test-retest reliability coefficients were found to be high for both subscales (.80 for intrapersonal mindfulness and .73 for interpersonal mindfulness). Consequently, it is possible to argue that the Turkish form of MTS has sufficient psychometric properties.
