Öğe A Comparative Approach to Sustainable Fish Meal: Prussian Carp Meal (Carassius gibelio Bloch, 1782)(2024) Baki, Birol; Kaya Öztürk, Dilara; Gören, Gülşen UzunIn the present study, the usability of Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio) meal (PCM) as an alternative animal protein source in fish feeds was investigated by comparing it with anchovy (Engraulis encrasicholus) and sprat (Sprattus sprattus) meals in terms of their biochemical, fatty acid, amino acid and element compositions. Prussian carp were obtained by fishing and made into a meal (PCM). Anchovy (AM), and sprat (SM) meals were purchased from a commercial company. The amino acid analysis results show that PCM's total, essential, and non-essential amino acid values were lower than that of AM and SM (P < 0.05). The polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and Omega-6 values of PCM were higher than AM and SM; and lower than saturated fatty acids (SFA), Omega-3, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), atherogenicity index (AI) values (P < 0.05). According to the element analysis, the P and Ca values of the PCM were higher than the AM and SM (P < 0.05), and the Na, K, Fe, Cu, Zn and Se values were lower. According to the results of the present study, PCM can be utilized in the feed industry to boost the sustainability of fish meals used in feed production, which in turn will reduce the foreign dependency on vegetable and fish meals, and lower feed costs.Öğe A Study on Some Biological Parameters of Crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823) in Ulugöl, Samsun, Turkey(2021) Gören, Gülşen Uzun; Karayücel, Sedat; Karayucel, IsmihanThe study aimed to investigate some morphometric traits, length-weight relationship, meat yield,\rfecundity and some biochemical compositions of Astacus leptodactylus, in one of the Bafra Fish\rLakes named Ulugöl, Samsun, Turkey. A total of 378 A. leptodactylus (198 female and 180 male)\rwere examined. The average carapace length was 50.96±0.46 mm for females, 51.31±0.66 mm for\rmales and 51.13±0.40 mm for all sampled crayfish. Abdomen length was 52.36±0.49 mm for\rfemales, 49.26±0.62 mm for males and 50.87±0.40 mm for all sampled crayfish. Live weight was\rbetween 14.38 g and 105.03 g with an average of 38.26±0.73 g. The average weight of females was\rless than that of males. There was a strong relationship between length and weight. The weight of\rcrayfish with pleopodal eggs ranged from 28.24 g, to 59.50 g with an average of 41.73±1.09g. The\raverage number of eggs per individuals was 192.90±9.94 with an average number of 4.62±0.21 per\runit of live weight. The average total egg weight was 3.35±0.19 g while the average egg diameter\rwas 2.17±0.03 mm. Abdomen meat was lower for males comparing with females. Average\rmoisture, crude ash, crude oil and crude protein of abdomen meat were 81.27%, 1.47%, 0.81% and\r16.45%, respectivelyÖğe Bafra Balık Gölleri’nden Tatlı Gölü ve Gıcı Gölü’ndeki Tatlısu Istakozu (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823)’nun Bazı Popülasyon Parametrelerinin Belirlenmesi(2022) Gören, Gülşen Uzun; Karayücel, SedatÇalışmada, Bafra Balık Gölleri’nden Tatlı ve Gıcı Gölleri’ndeki tatlısu ıstakozu (Astacus\rleptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823)’nun morfometrik parametreleri ile yumurta verimliliğinin\rbelirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma Kasım 2018 ile Ekim 2019 tarihleri arasında belirlenen\ristasyonlarda pinter kullanılarak tatlısu ıstakozlarının aylık olarak avlanmasıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir.\rTatlı Gölü’nden avlanan 242 adet tatlısu ıstakozunun 105 adedi dişi, 137 adedi erkek olarak tespit\redilirken, Gıcı Gölü’nde elde edilen 216 adet tatlısu ıstakozunun 87 adedi dişi, 129 adedi ise erkek\rolarak bulunmuştur ve cinsiyetler arasındaki farkın önemsiz olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada Tatlı\rGölü’ndeki tatlısu ıstakozlarında ortalama toplam uzunluğu ve ortalama ağırlığı sırasıyla 10,27±0,09\rcm ve 33,76±0,88 g olarak tespit edilmiştir. Gıcı Gölü’nde ise, ortalama toplam uzunluk 10,44±0,41\rcm ve ortalama ağırlık 37,15±1,91 g olarak tespit edilmiştir. Tatlı Gölü’nden ve Gıcı Gölü’nden elde\redilen tatlısu ıstakozlarının boy ile ağırlıkları arasında pozitif yönde doğrusal kuvvetli ilişki\rbulunmuştur. Tatlı ve Gıcı Gölü’nde, dişi ıstakozların abdomenlerinin erkek ıstakozlardan daha geniş\rolduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, erkek ıstakozların ise kıskaç uzunluğu ve kıskaç genişliğinin\rdaha büyük olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tatlı Gölü’nden örneklenen yumurtalı ıstakozların bireysel\rortalama yumurta sayısının 241,24±11,94 adet, ortalama toplam yumurta ağırlığının 3,22±0,17 g,\rortalama birim yumurta ağırlığının 0,013±0,001 g ve ortalama yumurta çapı 2,61±0,02 mm olarak\rtespit edilmiştir. Bu veriler Gıcı Gölü’nden örneklenen yumurtalı ıstakozlar için ise sırasıyla\r245,38±15,87 adet, 3,03±0,19 g, 0,013±0,001 g ve 2,73±0,02 mm olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışma\rsonunda, Tatlı ve Gıcı Gölleri’ndeki tatlısu ıstakozlarının çevresel parametreler, morfometrik\rparametreler ile yumurta verimliliği göller arasında benzer olduğu bulunmuştur.Öğe Current Situation and Position of Fisheries Production of Sinop Province in Turkey’s Fisheries Production#(2021) Yücel, Sennan; Baki, Birol; Altın, Tuçe; Gören, Gülşen UzunIn the present study, the production amount in the last five years (2015-2019) of Sinop province,\rwhich is located in the Black Sea Region and a significant part of fisheries production is carried out,\rwas evaluated. For this purpose; Sinop Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and TUIK\r(Turkish Statistical Institute) data were used. There are 2.326 commercial fishermen and 444 fishing\rboats in Sinop province. In the sea area of Sinop, 5 enterprises still produce culture fish in cages. The\r2 potential marine culture areas identified in Sinop have an annual production capacity of 32.430 tons\r(31 enterprises). In addition, 5 bivalves (4.940 tons/year) and 1.000.000 number/year capacity\rjuvenile fish production facilities are at the project stage. The total fisheries production of Sinop\rProvince in 2019 was 34.620,9 tons, and 1.505 tons were obtained from aquaculture. In addition to\rthese, 3.924 tons of fish processing facilities per year, and 35 tons of fish meal and oil processing\rfacilities per year are operated. 66% of sea fish caught in Sinop are anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus\rponticus), 16% sprat (Sprattus sprattus phalericus), 13% horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus), 3%\rbluefish (Pomatomus saltatrix) and 2% consists of other species. The most preferred marine fish by\rthe consumers are anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus ponticus), horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus),\rwhiting (Merlangus merlangus), red mullet (Mullus barbatus), bluefish (Pomatomus saltatrix), turbot\r(Psetta maxima) and bonito (Sarda sarda) and sea bream (Sparus aurata), sea bass (Dicentrarchus\rlabrax) and rainbow trout (Oncorhyncus mykiss) are the culture fish species offered for sale\rthroughout the year.Öğe Effect of shell height on the reproductive success and survival of cornu aspersum (O. F. Müller, 1774)(BIOFLUX SRL, 2018) Çelίk, M. Yeşim; Duman, Mehmet Bedrettin; Sariίpek, Merve; Gören, Gülşen Uzun; Öztürk, Dilara Kaya; Karayücel, SedatThe study was carried on Cornu aspersum (synonym: Helix aspersa) in the Black Sea region, Turkey. The snails were placed in two separate treatments called G1 (28.00-33.99 mm) and G2 (34.00-39.99 mm) at the artificial hatchery. Mean shell height and live weight were 32.22±0.06 mm and 8.96±0.07 g in G1; 35.40±0.06 mm and 11.76±0.09 g in G2, respectively. The spawning rate in G1 was lower than G2 (p ≤ 0.05). The survival rate was 78.18% in G1 and 81.14 % in G2 after spawning; 86.63% in G1 and 94.12% in G2 after hibernation, respectively. The mean egg weight was 0.04 g in G1 and 0.05 g in G2 while the shell height and live weight of juvenile were 5.56±0.05 mm and 0.06g in G1; 5.81±0.07 mm and 0.07 g in G2, respectively. The results showed that larger eggs were laid by bigger size adults and after hatching bigger size juveniles were obtained due to larger egg diameter. In addition, the results of experiment confirmed the hypothesis suggested about survival that newly matured individuals could have insufficient energy reserves while larger ones can not withstand the excess energy for reproduction. Thus, the body size of C. aspersum is correlated with reproductive performance and survival rate. © 2018, BIOFLUX SRL. All rights reserved.Öğe Kültür Koşullarında Astacus leptodactylus (Eschscholtz, 1823)'un Yumurta Verimliliğinin Belirlenmesi(2019) Gören, Gülşen Uzun; Karayücel, Sedat; Baki, BirolÇalışmada Bafra Balık Gölleri’nden (Ulugöl-Samsun) alınan tatlısu ıstakozlarının (Astacusleptodactylus) kültür koşullarına adaptasyonu sağlanarak yumurta verimliliğinin belirlenmesiamaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan tatlısu ıstakozları, Kasım-2016’da avcılık yolu ile eldeedilmiştir. Kerevitlerden yumurtalı olanların morfometrik ve yumurta özellikleri belirlenerekaralarındaki ilişki düzeyleri korelasyon analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Yumurtalı bireylerinortalama total ağırlığı 41,79±3,00 g, ortalama total boyu 10,72±0,22 cm olup, ortalama yumurtasayısı 156,40±33,24 adet ve ortalama yumurta çapı ise 2,50±0,12 mm olarak tespit edilmiştir.Tatlısu ıstakozlarının total boy ve total ağırlık değerleri arasında çok kuvvetli pozitif bir ilişkiolduğu, yumurta çapı ile toplam yumurta ağırlığı, yumurta sayısı, birim canlı ağırlığa düşenyumurta sayısı arasında ise negatif yönde ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir.
