Öğe Determination of Amino Acids Composition in Different Tissues of Whiting, Merlangus merlangus euxinus (Nordmann, 1840) from the Black Sea, Turkey(Adem Yavuz Sonmez, 2019) Bilgin, Ozlem; Carli, Ugur; Erdogan, Selahattin; Mavis, Murat Emrah; Goksu-Gursu, Gokce; Yilmaz, MuhittinLC-MS/MS was used to determine the amino acid composition in muscle, ovary and liver of whiting, Merlangus merlangus euxinus, caught off the coast of Sinop province in the Black Sea. A total of 19 amino acids (AA) were found in the different samples. The essential amino acids (EAA) in the different tissues of whiting were 55.9% in the meat, 54.8% in the ovary and 51.7% in the liver of the total amino acids. The AA contents except for Arg, Glu, Pro and Tau in meat and ovary of whiting were not significantly different (P >= 0.05), but the AA contents except for Cys, Tyr, Asp, Orn and Tau of these two tissues were significantly (P < 0.05) higher than the AA contents of the liver. These results showed that whiting ovaries have approximately as much protein as the meat.Öğe Growth, reproduction and chemical composition of whiting, Merlangius merlangus euxinus (Nordman, 1840), in the Black Sea(Ege Univ, Fac Fisheries, 2018) Bilgin, Sabri; Bilgin, OzlemIn this study, studies on growth and reproduction biology and mortality rates, chemical composition of meat in terms of nutritional value were reviewed and the results presented as a whole in the scope of population dynamics of whiting fish (Merlangius merlangus euxinus) living in Black Sea. The regression equation of log (a) against b for different weight length relationships of whiting is Log (a) = -0.0013 (b) +1.735; r(2) = 0.998 (n = 6) for male and Log (a) = -0.0013 (b) +1.650; r(2) = 0.994 (n = 6) for the female. It was determined that the reproductive activity intensified during the summer months of the whiting continued throughout the year. It was determined that whiting meat protein contents is about 15.5 +/- 0.85% and fat ratio is about 1.5 +/- 0.54%. The results showed that the whiting, which grow as fast as the sex maturity, was under the fishing pressure and the fishing with bottom gill nets and mesh size of gill nets are suitable for whiting sustainable fisheries. It is appropriate that the fishing pressure applied on the whiting fish is high (E = 0.75 +/- 0,031) and the fishing mortality rate should be reduced to 50-60% levels. This can be achieved with no fishing, or less fishing of whiting at zero and one year old fish that have not reached sexual maturity.Öğe Weight and Length Relationships (WLRs) and Meat Yield of Brown Garden Snail, Helix aspersum Muller, 1774 and Turkish Snail, Helix lucorum Linnaeus, 1758 (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Helicidae) in the Sinop Province, Turkey(Kastamonu Univ, Orman Fak, 2018) Duyar, Hunkar Avni; Bilgin, Ozlem; Bilgin, SabriThe present work carried out on the length - weight relationship of two commercially important mollusks Helix aspersa and Helix lucorum were analyzed from Sinop province in the Central Black Sea region climate, Turkey. Totally 86 specimens of H. aspersa and 67 specimens of H. lucorum were collected for this study in 5 April 2018. Parameters of the shell length and weight (W) relationship by using the formula W = aL(b). The weight shell height, weight - shell width and shell height - shell width results suggested that two helix species (H. aspersa and H. lucorum) showed negative growth characteristics (b<3, P<0.05). The shell height and shell width of H. lucorum was significantly (P<0.05) greater than the mean shell height and shell width of H. aspersa. The mean meat yield of H. lucorum was significantly (t- test, P<0.001) lower than the mean meat yield of H. aspersa. The present study can be use for future researches for cooperation to their results.
