    An Investigation on Drama Studies Focusing on Turkish Education Subjects

    The current research aimed toinvestigate graduate theses based on the creative drama method used in Turkishlanguage arts education.  Atotal of 386 graduate theseswere screened for this research. However, research sample only included the thesescategorized under the titles related to Turkish Education and the theses whichare related to Turkish Education but not under category of Turkish Education.At total 30 theses -26 master’s theses and 4 doctoral theses- constituted thesample of this study. is the research findings revealed that the drama theseson Turkish language education are mostly practice-based, the first but primary theseswere conducted as descriptive study. Some of theses analyze the effect of dramaon students’ academic achievement and some of theses examine Turkish teachersand preservice Turkish teachers’ competence level of drama, and there are some studiesregarding the use of drama for teaching specific content area of Turkish languagecourse. Also, there are put forward some models and suggestions about how tomake use of drama method for teaching Turkish language.
