Öğe f-Statistical approximation to Bogel-type continuous functions(Tbilisi Centre Math Sci, 2021) Akdag, SevdaIn this paper, considering the concept of f-statistical convergence which is a generalization of statistical convergence and is intermediate between the ordinary convergence and the statistical convergence, we obtain a f-statistical approximation theorem for sequences of positive linear operators defined on the space of all real valued B-continuous functions on a compact subset of the real line. We primarily apply this new notion to prove a Korovkin type approximation theorem. Then, using weighted equi-statistical convergence, a general Korovkin type theorem is obtained. Also, an example such that our new approximation result works but its classical case does not work is constructed.
