The data was collected from bachelor-level students in Sinop, a city at the top of Turkey’s life satisfaction and happiness index, by using a survey technique. In order to describe the data collected, frequency and arithmetic mean tests were used, whereas t-tests and variance analysis were used to determine differences between variables, and correlation was used to determine the relationship. As a result of the research, it was found that there is a negative relationship between the desire to make a career in tourism and level of hopelessness amongst the students. © 2020, Lodz University Press.
